First Eucharist

Then taking bread and giving thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying:  "This is my body to be given for you.  Do this as a remembrance of me."  He did the same with the cup after eating, saying as he did so:  "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which will be shed for you."  (Luke 22:19-20)

A child preparing for the sacrament of First Eucharist must be registered in the Parish School of Religion.  Preparations begin in the early spring of the second grade year.  Preparations for First Eucharist begin with a Family Retreat.  Parents and catechists work closely together to prepare the child for the reception of this sacrament celebrated in May.  Parents are encouraged to attend parent meetings as well as a scheduled rehearsal, picture and reception night.    Contact Susan Mantzey at the parish office or email her at susan@robertbellarmine.org
